Holiday Lights
“We know where the real life documentarians are…” - Black Star
Cameras are tools, people can wax poetically about brands and arbitrary features, but at the end of the day they’re simply tools.
From that perspective it becomes more about the purpose and the execution, or to put it simply, using the right tool for the job. I also consider myself a documentary photographer, someone who captures fleeting moments. The greatest documentary project of my life is capturing the growth of my family, recording our new experiences and budding traditions.
Our first trip the Holiday Lights exhibit at the Bronx Zoo, this photo set, was taken on a camera that I believe to the right tool for documenting family life. This isn’t a camera review post, I’m not going to name the device, I’ll just say it’s a very capable tool that’s designed for documentary and street photography. I was very impressed by how well the photos came out because I was pushing high ISO level, and I was really shocked by how well the camera focused in essentially total darkness.
Hope you enjoy these photos, Peace!

The Friendly Fridge is an amazing concept, and something that should become a positive social movement.
