New Haven Street Photography, Vol. 1

New Haven Street Photography, Vol. 1

2020 was a very transformative year for me as a creative, especially a creative who’s art form requires daily access to an open and free world.

Like most photographers I became really great at capturing the happenings of my home, documenting the growth of my family, and the seasonal transitions of my neighborhood. The real growth for me came as a byproduct of being indoors for a long period of time, I was able really do my creative homework by learning new techniques and studying the works of artists that I admire.

My reemergence in 2021 has felt extremely refreshing, I assume this is what it feels like to be a bear coming out of hibernation. As a photographer I’m excited to document how people are acclimating to the nuances of social living, personally I’m looking forward to venturing into a changed world and supporting local businesses. (2020 really showed how importance it is to support independent and local businesses.)

This collection of photos was captured in New Haven, in the blocks surrounding the Yale campus. I wasn’t anticipating on creating a collection of photos, the intent of the trip was brunch and to take photos of the family but I couldn’t avoid taking a few snaps of the antiquated architecture that helps give the Yale neighborhood its charm.

As I continue to share work I hope you’re able to see how I’ve refined my perspective, and you become a fan of my new visual language.

Peace!

(New Haven has so many areas to explore.)
